Marrakech in One Day: A Real Hour-by-Hour 24-Hour Itinerary
MApar marrakeshexpresstour 2 min de lecture

A real hour-by-hour plan for one day in Marrakech — breakfast at 8am to rooftop dinner at 8pm, with a realistic budget.
One day is enough to see the essential side of Marrakech if you plan it hour by hour rather than trying to fit everything in loosely. This is that plan — a layover, a stopover, or the first day of a longer trip.
8:00 AM — Breakfast
Start at a riad or café with msemen, baghrir (Moroccan pancakes), olives, fresh orange juice, and mint tea. Prefer something more active first thing? A sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Atlas foothills is the alternative early start worth considering — it just means shifting the rest of this schedule about two hours later.
9:00 AM — Koutoubia Mosque
Non-Muslim visitors can’t enter, but the surrounding gardens and the 77-meter minaret are worth a short stop — five to ten minutes, not a full destination.
10:00 AM — The Medina and souks
An hour and a half through the covered markets — leather, lanterns, spices, carpets. See our full souks guide for what to expect to pay before you start bargaining.
11:30 AM — Bahia Palace
Carved cedar ceilings, mosaic tilework, and quiet courtyards — about 45 minutes to an hour.
1:00 PM — Lunch
A riad courtyard lunch of tagine, couscous, and salads is the easy, reliable choice near the Medina.
2:30 PM — Ben Youssef Madrasa
Zellige tilework and carved plaster around a central courtyard — 30 to 45 minutes.
4:00 PM — Jardin Majorelle
The cobalt-blue “Majorelle Blue” garden — see our full gardens guide for ticket-booking tips, since this one sells out by mid-morning in peak season (worth swapping earlier in your day if you’re visiting April or October).
6:00 PM — Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset
The square’s transformation from daytime market to evening food stalls and performers is the single best-timed moment of this itinerary — see our sunset spots guide for the best rooftop cafés to watch it from, and our Marrakech After Dark guide for what happens once it’s fully dark.
8:00 PM — Rooftop dinner
Tangia, mechoui, or pastilla with live Moroccan music closes out the day.
Realistic budget for the day
- Breakfast: €5–10
- Attraction tickets (Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, Jardin Majorelle): €20–35
- Lunch: €10–20
- Shopping in the souks: flexible, bargaining expected

- Taxis for the day: €10–20
Total: roughly €60–115 for the day per person, excluding accommodation.
